A Port Harcourt high court has sentenced to death by hanging one Moses Ejikelemachi for the murder of EKENE OKAFOR which sad incident happened in 2012 in port Harcourt
JUSTICE OMEREJI who presided over the matter after series of court appearances which has lasted for years with circumstantial evidences against the criminal sentenced EJIKELEMACHI to death by hanging after finding him guilty on four count charges bothering on conspiracy, Kidnapping murder and stealing.
speaking with newsmen outside the court the lead lawyer to Rivers state government in the case DEINMA TAMUNO-OPUBO said the judgement would provide a relief to the family who are still grappling with the pain of loosing a loved one. he said the deceased family suffered from unimaginable trauma after the death of Ekene Okafor who had been kidnapped by the criminal in 2012.
meanwhile the Lawyer to the convict OBIDINMA OBIDINMA said he has discussed with his client to appeal the judgement. he said he would pursue all legal means to get justice for his client.
until the processes for the appeal will be heard MOSESS EJIKELEMACHI will be cooling off at the port Harcourt prisons.
