The protest by members of senior staff association of Electricity and allied workers was brought to a halt on Monday members of united labour disagree with their Trade union congress over the picketing of Transmission company of Nigeria.

The senior staff association of electricity and allied workers which is an affiliate of trade Union Congress had on Monday morning embarked on picketing of the Transmission company of Nigeria over poor power supply disparities in welfare packages and non-remittance of cheques off dues to the union from TCN

The state organizing secretary of NUEE, Innocent Lord Douglas while urging member of National Union of electricity employees, to ignore the picketing by TUC said the NUEE members are an affiliate of united labour Congress and was not consulted by TUC before embarking on the picketing which resulted in the fracas between the organized labour. He said ‘’I have instructed my members to go back to work as locking them out will amount to absenteeism and deductions from their salary’’. He continued ‘’ you see where one person’s right stops another’s rights start; we are saying things cannot be done that way anymore. If we are consulted, we would have given the management Notice withdrawing our members and their services but in this case we were not’’

He said the matter was reported at MINIOKORO police station and that their members had gone back to work.
