The National drug law enforcement agency NDLEA has raise alarm over the increasing number of drug related abuses and drug trafficking in river state.
The state Deputy commandant operations of NDLEA Rivers state Mohammed Kabil Yusuf at an event organized by Public Compliant commission in port Harcourt told our correspondent that the command is worried over the increase in drug related cases of drug abuse and drug trafficking amongst youth. He said we are not folding our arms. We have doing a lots, especially with the problems the agency is having and the escalation of this crimes in the society, ‘’you know that drugs and crime are synonymous they go hand in hand.;
Mr. Yusuf added that the way forward is that we seek the cooperation of the general public in terms of intelligence gathering and information that we can turn to actionable intelligence. ‘’ we also want Government at the state levels, Local government, Royal fathers. And Non-governmental Organisation all and sundry come together and assist us to fight the menace of Drug abuse in Rivers state.
