4 Teenagers Arrested For Defrauding Medical Doctor 3 Million Naira Using WatsAPP And Fake Bank Alert

The Rivers state police command says it has busted a gang of teenage boys specialized in defrauding people using what’s app generated messages to obtain Bank details

The commissioner of police CP Usman Belel while parading the four teenage suspects said luck ran out of the teenagers when one of their victims decided to trace the bank details of where the monies was lodge in various bank account belong to various individuals.

He said the main suspects who is at large is a notorious internet fraudster who connived with one international corroborator identified as Mary Morgan trading on apple laptops iPhone and appliances, defrauded their Victim using the number 8452884508 in their criminal escapades’  and fraudulently obtained from one Dr. Pius Odiumen who was made to pay into different account numbers belonging to them and their cronies under the guise of selling medically equipment’s to him resulting from online transaction with their foreign partner identified as Mary Morgan who disguised as a staff of Apple company

When confronted by our correspondent the teenage boys denied knowledge of what their account was used for, they said they only gave out their account number to a friend who is at Large to receive money without knowledge of the full transaction. Those arrested are: REGAN OSCAR 16 YEARS, OMAWUMI SUCCESS 56 YEARS, OBURIUCHE PROFIT 15YEARS, VICTORY AUSTIN 16 Years. Oburiuche Profit said he was asked by his tailor friend to loans him his ATM card and then shortly after he gave the ATM Card to his friend, he got alert of five hundred thousand which he was made to withdraw and handed back to his friend and was given a forty-six thousand for the services rendered.

Similarly, Omawumi success said she was trading at the creek road market when she suddenly got alert of one million naira before she could rush to the bank, the money was withdrawn and she felt the bank had made a mistake which was corrected immediately her 16 years old son confessed to using her account to withdraw the money to help a friend not knowing where the initial money was coming from donated his mums account. He apologized to bringing shame to his mum and family and promised to turn a new leave and disassociating himself from bad friends
