30 women journalist have benefitted from the free medical eye test conducted by LAVINDA EYE HOSPITAL located at Royal palm estate by somitel hotel within the Trans Amadi axis of Port Harcourt,
The free eye test was put together by NAWOJ in conjunction with LAVINDA EYE Hospital as part of activities to mark the NAWOJ 2019 DAY celebrations,
The NAWOJ Week Which Kicked off yesterday with opening ceremony. Lectures, training and award presentation ended on a lighter tone with heavy refreshment.
Speaking to participants at the eye center venue, the chairperson of Nawoj Rivers state Lilian Okonkwo Ogabu, said the need for eye testing for women journalist was to encourage the women to engage in healthy activities and to take care of their general wellbeing. She said the need for eye testing cannot be over emphasized as most journalist deal with sending their stories through such medium like the computers and phones and therefore needs to protect the eyes. And also the need to undergo clinical checks and examination to stay healthy
She said Nawoj is encouraging all women to engage in a healthy life styles as most women are too busy to even go for periodical medical examinations.
The event which witnessed an impressive turnout as day Two event of the Nawoj Press Week had women Journalist from both private and government media organizations attending the event.
