Rivers State Police Command have dismissed reports of killing of some persons by some police personnel at the burial of one ALERUCHI WOKO who was allegedly shot dead during a protest around Nkporlu axis of the East West road.

The spokesman of the Command, DSP NNAMDI OMONI told our correspondent that the burial of WOKO went successfully with the help of security operatives deployed in the area.

He said fracas broke out earlier on between the police and some infiltrators who were there to cause trouble but insisted that no live was lost as reported by the leader of the men deployed in the area.

He said normalcy have been restored to the area and people are going about their normal business.

Recall that Aleruchi woko was shot dead in a protest last year, when the community barricaded the East West road to demand for government action on the deplorable state of that axis of the east west road.

Report said trouble started when some hoodlums took advantage of the protest and attacked a police man and collected his riffles from the officers and equally attacked innocent travelers using the east west axis of that road until men the Nkpolu division of police fired shots into the air and a stray bullet hit on Aleruchi.
