The Community Development Chairman of Choba in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, LAWRANCE IGWE and Chief ORIJI AZUH have been shot dead by unknown armed men.
The third victim one IYKE WORDU sustained serious gunshots bullet wounds from the hoodlums terrorizing Choba Community.
A source within the community confirmed to correspondent that they woke up to see the dead bodies of the victims after sporadic shooting that lasted for hours last night.
The source said IYKE WORDU who sustained bullet wound has been rushed to the hospital for treatment while the remains of the CDC chairman and Chief ORIJI AZUH who is in charge of carrying Choba deity during worship of the deity have been deposited at the mortuary on the order of the police.
Choba community has been in the news in the past months on clashes and attacks leading to killings and beheading of several individuals from suspected cultists.
Meanwhile the police PRO Nnamdi Omoni said police is aware of the attacks but can’t confirm casualties yet.
