The Diobu Vigilante group has accused the Mayor of port Harcourt city victor Ihunwo of assaulting and threatening member of the group of preventing his men from working

The spokesman of the Diobu vigilante group PRINCE AMATARI BIOBELEDEI told our correspondent that the Mayor Physically assaulted him and tore his clothes over who will handle the security of the Liberia building complex under construction by the state government.

He said trouble began when the Mayor allegedly sent boys to lock up the building querying why a Non-Rivers man would be acting as a security officer of the ongoing project

Meanwhile the Diobu vigilante group spokesman called on the Rivers state governor to come to their Aid as his life and that of the vigilante members are under threats by the cultist working for the Mayor

Meanwhile the spokesman for the vigilante group. Mr. Prince Amatari also reported the matter to Civil Rights Council that the Mayor physically assaulted him yesterday and tore his clothe.

The Civil Rights Council who escorted AMATRI to the state criminal investigation department CID on invitation by the police says the issues borders on a library complex building which is financed by the state Government and the contractor handed the building project to him (Amatari) to be in charge of security. Mr.Amatari said his only offence is that the Chairman is angry that a non-Rivers man is in charge of the construction project security.

Prince Amatari is from Bayelsa state who narrowly escaped assassination attempt last year. The assassins killed two persons in his house but met his absence

We also gathered that the police have served the Mayor letter of invitation as at this afternoon and the Civil Rights Council is also considering filling Civil Case on behalf of Amatari.
