Nigeria Army Says Weapons Recovered By Police Not In Army’s Infantry Record And Has Never Been Used Or Purchased For Soldiers

The Nigeria Army says the 3 assault rifles recovered by the police does not belong to the NIGERIA ARMY.

THE spokesman of the six division Nigeria Army Col AMINU ILLIYASU  told our corespondent that the Nigeria army does not have such weapon in its inventory or armory.

He identified the weapons as TAVOR X95 which has never been ordered or used by Nigeria army for its operations.

He confirmed that soldiers were killed and their weapons taken away but that the recent recovery by police does not have resemblance of the Nigeria Army.

He said arms bearing are personalized for each soldiers for easy identification since after the civil war.

He urged the Nigeria police to dig further as criminals may be smuggling in the riffles or possibly seized or stolen from sister agencies.
