5 Dead As Battle For Territorial Control By Two Suspected Cult Groups Continues In Bodo Gokana LGA In Rivers State

Tension in Bodo community is still high as resident fear that 3 days after 5 bodies were discovered on Monday morning after heavy shooting from Sunday night to wee hours that nothing has or seems to be done to unravel the killers of the youths whose corpse has quietly been buried by their relatives.

The Youth President of Bodo community Kpoobari Pattah in Gokana LGA of rivers state told our correspondent that five persons were killed in overnight raid by suspected cultists. He said three of the victims are known to the community are allegedly innocent youths while two are believed to be cultists.

He accused political class in the community of sponsoring armed groups and promised to expose their names in due course. He said the community is not sincere about the issues of insecurity on ground which is tearing the community apart

He urged security agencies to investigate all leaders of the community

He said killings have been on going within that community because relatives of victims are not willing to report to the police

He identified Those killed as: Baribefe Bornu and Tombari Thomas Vikpee from Bodo, while Edwards Barizigha from B-Dere community.

Security analyst says the continuous cult clash in the area is not unconnected to the Battle for territory control by Greenlanders/Deybgam coalition who are at war with Dewell cult groups
