One week after unknown gunmen kidnapped a legal Practitioner IKECHI EMELUGO in port Harcourt well-wishers and family members are worried of his whereabouts.
IKECHI EMELUGO, who is a member of the Nigeria Bar Association NBA, Port Harcourt Branch, was kidnapped on the third of August in Port Harcourt.
In the meantime, lawyers under the aegis of Eastern Bar Forum have called for an unconditional release of one of their members IKECHI EMELUGO who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
The Chairman Governing Board of Eastern Bar Forum, SOSEIPRIYE LONGWILLIAMS while briefing newsmen on the incident appealed to the kidnappers to release IKECHI EMELUGO to his family. He said family members are worried that after paying ransom to the kidnappers have refused to release the victim.
He said the kidnappers had engaged the family in ransom negotiation and an amount was agreed and paid as stipulated but the kidnappers failed to release the victims thereafter.
SOSEIPRIYE LONGWILLIAMS, also called on the security agencies to step-up their game live up to their responsibilities of protecting lives and properties.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapped of the legal practitioner IKECHI EMELUGO.
The Police Public Relation Officer, NNAMDI OMONI said they are doing everything possible to secure his release.
