OGONI Boils Again! Seven Persons Feared Dead After Suspected Cultist Shot And Burnt Down Houses In Taabaa Nyokana KHANA LGA Including The Palace Of The Paramount Ruler

Reports says five persons are feared dead and several house raised down by suspected cultist in Taabaa community in Khana Local Government area of the state.

Violence has continued in the ogoni axis in rivers state despite the announcement by the state governor Nyesome Wike that the cultist troubling that Areas Bobisky Leniye has been caught.

Report said Some cultists attacked and raised down the palace of His Royal Highness of Taabaa MSK Nule and several other houses belonging to prominent members of that community.

The paramount ruler of Taabaa MSK NULE who spoke from his hiding said he ran away with his family on seeing the gunmen approaching his compound shooting sporadically and fled his palace with members of his household and in annoyance the gunmen decided to set his palace on fire.

He said he had called for meeting with his chief on hearing that two persons were feared dead the day before at Okwele. Suspected to be killed by the same cultists who had invaded his community all in Nyokana in Khana LGA

The attack at Taabaa just happened few minutes ago

While the Okwale happened on Tuesday were two persons were shot. We gathered that about five persons where killed by the cultists on Wednesday in Taabaa before setting houses on Fire.

 

When contacted the police public relation officer Nnamdi Omoni said I have been told about the attack in Taabaa and the Palace of the Traditional Ruler where unknown gunmen later identified as cult members invaded the community and carried out some kind of reprisal attacks on their perceived enemy and identified rival cult groups.

The commissioner of police has ordered for serious investigation into it, we understand that some persons are feared dead,

The police have not taken accurate figure or number of people who died in the incident. But we can confirm that some persons were shot dead.

Omoni said ‘’We have equally mobilized our men to contain the situation and minimize casualty rate.  Our men are still deplored there and we have been able to contain the situation and normalcy has been restores. Those that fled the community are asked to return and go about their business as peace has been restored.
