The Rivers state police command has ordered that Hotels who are yet to install CCTV in their hotel entrance corridors and reception areas should be arrested.
The police commissioner in the state CP MAUSTPHA DANDAURA expressed shock that some hotels are yet to install and comply with the compulsory directive to install CCTV in their hotels even after his directive to install the security monitoring equipment as a quick measure to stop the incessant killing and bring perpetrators to justice.
He said ‘’it has come to my notice and utter shock that some hotels are yet to comply with my directive hence, my order to arrest, the Manager, Receptionist and desk officers in the two hotels where two separate murders were recorded.
They will be investigated and if found culpable will be charged for culpable homicide. Today I want to reinforce our commitment towards tackling this menace and assures you that we have come to the end of these monstrous cultist and ritualists.’’
The CP said we have made substantial progress in the investigation of these killings, in one of the cases the actual murder suspect has been arrested and he is making useful confession.
He appealed to the good people of rivers state to remain calm as the command is on top of the matter and will spear no efforts in dealing with these criminal elements
