UNICEF Knocks South South/East State For Low Birth Registration: BLAMES High Rate Of Unemployment To FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT Failures To Accurate Births Registration Of Today Youths 17 YEARS AGO

The United Nation Children Funds UNICEF has blamed the growing unemployment in Nigeria to the inabilities of Government to plan for Nigeria future Due to lack of accurate Data

The UNICEF country Rep and child specialist Sharon Oladeji stated this at a training program to sensitive citizens of the south South and south East on the Importance of Birth registration for National planning said most of the unemployment witnessed in time past was as a result of lack forecast and planning

She said the Nigerian government failed to provide necessary infrastructure that could cater for the unemployed youths due to near absence of accurate data of its population.

The UNICEF country Rep and child specialist Sharon Oladeji also expressed sadness that most parents in the south South and South Eastern state exhibit nonchalant attitudes towards registering their children at birth for national development

She said without a proper birth registration how would the local, state and federal government plan for future development for children born today?  how can they plan with SDGs Goal without accurate data?

The United Nation children fund UNICEF has expressed sadness over the poor Birth Registration recorded in the south south and south East states in Nigeria.

The UNICEF country representative Sharon Oladeji stated this at a training designed to promote Birth registration for stakeholders and National Population field experts in port Harcourt to enable them shore up birth registration using jingles and messages that could appeal to people to register their wards, ages 1 – 5, 5 -12, 12 – 18. At no cost to the parents

Sharon Oladeji who is also a Child protection experts blamed low birth registration to most parents Refusal in the south and East to understand the need to get their children registered for national development.
