Today is international peace day. To mark the day, the Relief International Africa is advocating for policy action for Climate change
The country director of Relief International Africa Isaac Green at the end of the Road which took off at Rumuola and terminated at ISSAC BORO PARK IN MLE ONE AREA OF PORT HARCOURT said the walk is aimed at sensitizing the populace on the need to adopt positive actions that could draw attention to the huge environmental issues facing the country and causing breach of peace
AMB. ISAAC GREEN said the walk is also to mark the International peace day called for attitudinal change on activities that leads to negative climate change. ‘’he said we need peace in our society and part of our job is to ensure that whatever could lead to breach of peace in our environment is removed or minimized and to bring succor to the troubled world.
He said there’s need for policy makers to begin to implement laws that would preserve the greenhouse and not destroy them.
Some of the participants at the sideline of the peace walk for global action on climate change called for total eradication of hazardous emissions that depletes the Ozone layer.
The Rivers state chapter chairman of Relief International AMB. WALTER AKONYE gave the type of hazardous gas emission from cars, generators and from industries as dangerous and depleting the Ozone layers
