Police Rescues 4 Teachers And 2 Children Abducted In A Delta School In Asaba


Report says gunmen suspected to be Fulani headsmen have to be Fulani kidnapped four teachers and two children at Azagba Secondary School, Isele-Azagba.

Eyewitness said the armed three men stormed the school premises in a black Sports Utility Vehicle, gunmen shot into the air while holding their abductors, apparently to prevent any resistance beat up the security men and tied them up before heading straight to the classroom where four teachers and two children, said to be of the same parents, were whisked away.

“A bullet hit one of the teachers who is currently receiving treatment at the FMC. The kidnappers were three in numbers,” the source said.

The abducted teachers were identified as Mr Isiroro, Mr Okonta, Mr Ifeanyichukwu and the Principal of the school, Mrs Onyeje Bridget.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, who confirmed the abduction, said, “Yes, some teachers were abducted but they have been rescued this night but one of the teachers they shut is currently at the FMC Asaba.”

The school management is yet to react to the abduction
