Mr. Tasie Precious of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education IAUE in the Department of Management has been dismissed for issues relating to homosexuality.
the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele also asked the school legal adviser to prosecute him. He spent some months in port Harcourt federal prison before he was granted bail.
We gathered that His Wife in 2017 left him based on same allegations, our source said the wife pulled out from their marriage reasons being that for the past one year his husband has refused to sleep with her. she added that her husband brings his fellow men home and sleep with them in front of her.
the school management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education got to know about the lecturer’s harassment after series of complaints from his victims. Some who threatened to go social media if the randy lecturer was not called to order.
One of his victims told our correspondent that the randy lectuer has been inviting me for a drink and because I know of the reports from my mates on how he uses and frolic with them inappropriately, I was dodging him but when he failed me and I called to find out from him what happened since I was confident of what I wrote he then invited me to one-night club for discussion. On settling down with him after a drink, he called me to come let him tell me something. he kissed my ear at U&I club that night. Then I jumped up but he was laughing at me, then I left the place for him and told him to eat his marks.
U will recall that the issue of sex for grade is still trending and lots of institutions of higher learning are taking drastic actions to sanitize the system
We gathered that led to his dismissal.
Meanwhile Civil Rights Council, Rivers State has called on the Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education to make public the names of all the lecturers who were sacked by the University on 2nd September 2019 for sexual harassment of female students as revealed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele in an interview on a Radio station based in Port Harcourt.
A statement signed by the state Chairman of Civil Rights Council Prince Wiro in port Harcourt said ‘’we believe that making the name public is necessary as institutions of higher learning in the state and other parts of the country that are unaware of the nefarious activities of the lecturer may employ him and in turn he will continue the harassment of female students in such institution. We are of the view that making the identity known will enable the appropriate law enforcement agencies to prosecute the erring lecturer in line with the law.
Civil Rights Council called on the Management of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education to take a clue from Management of Rivers State University that made public the name of a Professor who was sacked on issues bordering on extortion.
He said ‘’the concealing of the identity of the sacked lecturer is improper and disturbing.
We equally call on IAUE management to make public the names of nine other lecturers suspended on related offences
We believe that doing so will serve as deterrent to other intending lecturers who may have such tendency in them.
