The Rivers state police command says it has deployed two thousand policemen to Bayelsa state ahead of the governorship elections coming up on Saturday 16th November 2019.
The police public relations officer Nnamdi Omoni told our correspondent that the state command deployed 2000 men along with other sister security agencies for the exercise to adequately secure the people and conduct free and fair credible elections
‘’He said the sister’s security agencies will join her Bayelsa state counterpart to ensure a hitch free election’’
The police public relations officer Nnamdi Omoni also appealed to electorates in Bayelsa state not to panic but to go out there to cast their vote without intimidation from any quarters as the security agencies will ensure that no electorate will be harassed, ‘’he said though we have deployed two thousand policemen to Bayelsa we are not leaving the state unprotected as we have enough men to tackle any security situation that may arise.
‘’I urge the residents to remain law abiding as we have not been having any security breach in the recent past weeks so I urge resident of the state to remain law abiding’’.
On the officers deployed to Bayelsa state from the rivers state police command, ‘’I urge them to be professional in their conducts as the command will not hesitate to deal with any one of them found wanting during this whole process.
