Out of 403 suspected cases of Measles reported in 29 states and the Federal Capital Territory only two deaths were recorded-The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in its weekly report published on their website said one person had also died of Lassa fever while 101 suspected cases were reported in 11 states and the FCT.
The agency said, “There were 403 suspected cases of measles reported from 126 council areas in 29 states and FCT. None was laboratory confirmed and two deaths were recorded.
“The national measles Technical Working Group is closely monitoring surveillance data and response activities across the country. Our plan is to continue review of measles surveillance data across the country and follow up with Katsina surveillance team to obtain measles line list.
“There were 101 suspected cases of Lassa fever reported from 40 council areas in 11 states and FCT. The states are Edo (54), Ondo (21), Ebonyi (9), Bauchi (6), Nasarawa (1), Plateau (3), the FCT (1), Kaduna (2), Kogi (1), Enugu (1), Ogun (1) and Abia (1).
There were11 confirmed cases and one death was recorded.”NCDC said the national Lassa fever multi-partner, multi-sectoral TWG would continue to coordinate the response activities at all levels.
