The people of Bonny Local Government Area are calling for a thorough investigation into the killing of the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Oliver Inoma-Abbey in Anambra state
Recall that the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Oliver Inoma-Abbey, was allegedly burnt alive in oraifite community in Anambra state in Anambra state after an encounter with hoodlums identified as Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB.
The chairman of BONNY local government David Rogers Irimagha in a statement on Friday described the killing as gruesome and barbaric
The Bonny LGA chairman said ACP Oliver Inoma Abbey is not only a respected police officer but also the Chief-Elect of Oruigbe Abbey-Hart House of the Ancient Kingdom of grand Bonny.
He pointed out the manner in which Acp Inoma Abbey was killed is an insult to the entire people of rivers state
The Bonny LGA urged that the Federal Government, the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies must expedite action to bring the perpetrators of this devilish act to face justice. He insisted that the perpetrators must be made to pay.
The statement also called on the Federal and State Government, the Inspector General of Police, and the Nigeria Police Force to ensure that the best support is accorded his bereaved family as dedication to his service to his fatherland, the people of BONNY also demanded that a National Honour be conferred on the murdered Acp Inoma Abby to immortalize his name for the ultimate sacrifice he has paid for the nation, Nigeria.
However, the chairman of BONNY local government has also assured the Igbo Community residing and doing business in Bonny LGA of their safety and security during this period and at all times. He said he ‘’will make sure no harm is done to any one of them now and all through, we are a decent people’’
