The Rivers investment forum says the depth of ONNE Seaport have never been the problem of the seaport after all following the berthing of a large cargo ship last week at ONNE in port Harcourt.
President of Rivers investment forum Ibifiri Bob manual told EWR that the forum has engaged various expert on research to determine why large ships could not berth at the port since its existence and the result proved that the depth has never been the challenge
He said ‘’Port Harcourt seaport has proven beyond doubts that the biggest problem with ONNE seaport is more of Bureaucracy than depths
He said investors in Rivers state had been vindicated on their stands that the challenges of Port Harcourt seaport are not shallow drafting but Bureaucracy with the berthing of such ship navigating to ONNE without any form of dredging.
The president of Rivers investment forum Ibifiri Bob Manuel also said investors are filled with high hopes that the berthing of big ships will open up and boost business activities around the Maritime sector and create more employment in the transportation cycle, of Haulage, freight forwarding and transportation.
