Tenants Accuse Landlord Of Invoking Mysterious Fire That Chased 22 Families Out Of Their Homes In Mile3 DIOBU Port Harcourt


An early morning Fire incident at no 7 Dim Street mile 3 Diobu has left 22 families stranded and all properties destroyed as helper’s scamper to assist victims who were still sleeping evacuate the inferno.

An eye witness said the incident started at about 12:30am today. A tenant in the building, sister Rumene Jabin said all the tenants lost everything to the fire inferno as they were not able to pick anything.

A fire service personnel Uchechukwu Igbor blamed the incident on storage of petroleum products. He explained that for the intervention of the fire service the inferno would have spread to other buildings.

The eye witness also reports that the men of Azikiwe Police station Diobu was on ground to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the incident to rob people. The building comprises of 22 rooms. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained

Our correspondent spoke to some of tenants who lost their properties and three of them (names withheld) accused the landlord of using mystical means to cause the fire.

They alleged that he(landlord) belongs to a dreaded cult group. They claimed that before now he came to urinate inside the compound publicly.

Another tenant said he used spiritual means to the invoke fire. explaining that a lot of strange things has been happening in the compound before the fire incident.

Our correspondent also reports that the 22 household are stranded and needs urgent help from the government as neighbors are railing to provide them with clothes to wear and cover themselves to stay warm for the Harmattan
