The National Universities Commission says it has unbundled Mass Communication degree in Nigerian universities.
The NUC Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, speaking with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, said this would take effect from the 2020 university admission year.
The commission said it had unbundled Mass Communication into seven separate degree programmes to meet current demands.
Noting that Mass Communication had been unbundled into Media Studies, Public Relations Studies, Cinematography and others.
The NUC Boss stated that, “The seven new programmes/departments to be domiciled in a Faculty/ School/College of Communication and Media Studies Are Journalism and Media Studies,
Public Relations, Advertising, Broadcasting, Film and Multi-Media Studies, Development Communication Studies, Information and Media Studies.”
