Death Toll In Egbeda Community Emohua LGA Following The Beheading Of 3 OSPAC Members On Monday Has Risen To 10


The death toll  following the heading of three OSPAC members in Egbeda community in Emohua LGA on Monday 6th of January 2020 has risen to ten.

The beheading of three Ospac members and the alleged counter revenge by suspected cult group has risen to 7 totaling 10 persons have been murdered in the last one week.

Son to one of the victims of the crossfire in Egbeda community in Emohua LGA. Harmony Chukwu said his father was killed on the 10th of January and their house burnt down.

He said a particular cult group launched attack against their rival and killed some rivals.  He said OSPAC accused one of his brother of being among the cult group that beheaded OSPAC member.  He also said Two other women from the community and one other man whose children were accused of being responsible for the attack were also killed.

We gathered that his brother belongs to the group that launched the first attack on their rival which warranted the reprisal attack by suspected OSPAC members that killed their father.

However, one OSPAC commander whose name he asked not to mention in a telephone chat with EWR this morning denied allegations that OSPAC carried out the attack. He claimed that the cult groups within the community are on war of supremacy, also nothing that the old men allegedly killed in the village are those whose children belongs to the rival cult groups and were said to have benefited from the criminal activities of their children.

He also appealed to parents to advice their children from joining cult groups and hand over their wards whose activities and source of wealth could not be verified to security agency for correction and rehabilitation to avoid the sins of the children visiting upon the innocent Father and Mothers.

Recall that at Rumuji on Monday the 6th of January the Chief priest whose Son was accused of being among members of the cult group that killed OSPAC members in Rumuodogo was also killed few hours after death of OSPAC members.

The Police station in Egbeda confirmed the killings to our correspondent in a telephone interview, the officers name withheld said some people have come to write statement on the killing but further information remains sketchy we are investigating. He said I can’t tell you the number of people killed but we have four statements here of their parents killed
