Organized Labour In Rivers State Threatens Strike As The Face Off Between Government And Labour Over Minimum Wage Persist

The organized Labour in Rivers State says no amount of intimidation or threat can deter her from ensuring that the rights of Public sector workers are put in the front burner.  The organized labour in a statement after a joint meeting of the organized labour in Port Harcourt signed by the state chairperson of NLC, Comrade Beatrice Itubo, her TUC Counterpart, Comrade Austin Jonah and the chairman Joint Negotiating Council, Comrade Emechita Chukwu, said the proper implementation of the new national minimum wage to sectors in the public service, payment of gratuity to pensioners, worker’s promotion and incremental steps cannot be swept under the carpet

They urged government to reconvene the minimum wage negotiation committee to ensure harmonious relationship. the organized however urged public servants in the state to remain committed to their work and also be at alert in case of any eventuality.
