The National president of NLC AYUBA WABA who were in Rivers state over the weekend met with the Rivers state governor Barrister NYESOM WIKE to iron out someof the lingering issues and the governor promised to resolve all the impediments within the week.

EWR- When asked if the Strike is put on hold?

She said ‘’We haven’t issued ultimatum; we were to issue an ultimatum on Monday not commencement of strike action. Our members are advised to be on alert.’’

Some of the issues demanded by NLC /TUC in RIVERS STATE BY THE ORGANIZED LABOUR include: –

1) IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE

2) NON IMPLEMENTATION OF PROMOTION AND ANNUAL INCREMENTAL BENEFITS – outstanding promotions with incremental steps across board to the State Public Service workers.

3) OUTSTANDING SALARY ARREARS FOR FEBRUARY, MARCH 2016 AND OCTOBER, 2017 — Government in 2016. It equally noted with dismay the non-release of October, 2017 salary to Health workers that participated in a nationwide strike action as declared by Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) in 2017.

4) NON PAYMENT OF PENSION AND GRATUITY- The Councils decried the inhuman disposition of the Rivers State Government to the plight of retirees
