The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp Rivers state has read a riot act to power facilities vandals to deceased from such act or face stiff consequences of the law.
The Commandant of the NSCDC Muktar Lawal while parading seven suspects arrested with a truck laden with vandalized Power Holding facilities in Port Harcourt, told journalists that anyone caught will be prosecuted and sentenced according to the stipulated law.
The NSCDC boss Muktar Lawal also warned Petroleum pipeline vandals to steer clear from such acts as the corps is all out for such offenders.
our correspondent Precious Ahiakwo reports that the NSCDC also arrested six suspects with illegally refined Diesel stacked in over one hundred cellophane bags and a truck laden with Petroleum products along Elele and Igbo-Etche LGA.
Meanwhile some of those paraded denied involvement in the crime for which they were paraded, Amaechi Uche said he was conveying a used transformer to Lagos as requested by his company Mount Zion International who were re-locating back to Lagos its headquarters before they were caught by officials of NSCDC. He said he was not allowed to talk, or explain to the officers who caught them when the NSCDC Officials began flogging them. And that the other items in his trucks were goods loaded from other people to cover his fuel cost to Lagos.
