The Village of Okporowo community of Ogbakiri in Emuoha Local Government Area slept with one eyes open following the rain of bullets power tussle between the degbam cult group.
At least six persons were killed in the fight which started on Friday into Saturday morning with several others who sustained gunshot injuries.
Despite the presence of security personnel on ground the area which restored calm and normalcy on Saturday evening, a source within the community said to EWR ‘’How can we sleep? When you don’t know where the next bullet will come from. These boys are full of surprises, what we have for now is grave yard peace’’
Another source who wishes not to be named confirmed that security agencies are on ground to prevent any break down of law and order. He said the crisis is within okporowo community not the entire Ogbakiri land is linked to power tussle between the degbam cult group of okporowo over who will be the commander
Meanwhile Civil Rights Council Rivers State has called for restraint in the killings at Ogbakiri in Emohua LGA where at least six persons are reported dead. A statement issued by the state chairman of Civil rights council Prince Wiro said Tension is still high in the area as at 10:00am on Saturday morning. As passenger Buses moving to Kalabari axis enroute Ogbakiri are threading with caution.
Civil Rights Council in the statement condemns the senseless killings said to be linked to supremacy battle between two cult groups.
The statement also called on security agencies to live up to its responsibility of protecting lives and property.
the Rivers State police command yet to confirm the death and number of casualty, security men on ground said it has sent signal to the command informing them of the development
