On Monday the complainant who submitted a petition against Sergent Rose last week to the commissioner of police- Jude Ogbonna who said he was stripped naked by Sergeant Rose of Eagle crack Police Unit was interviewed by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of State Criminal Investigation Department and Sergeant Rose was also interviewed.
Sergeant Rose claimed that the Pastor brought complain of threat to his life against Jude that is why she invited Jude Ogbonna. The Deputy Commissioner of Police asked her to provide petition that the pastor wrote since Eagle Crack does not receive verbal compliant except a petition directed to CP and minute to the unit.
She said no petition was written but that SP Benson told her to handle the case, The Deputy Commissioner of Police called SP Benson Adetuyi former commander of Eagle Crack Police unit, SP Benson told the Deputy Commissioner, He is not aware of such case. The Deputy Commissioner told her that she has no right to take money from Jude Ogbonna. The Deputy commissioner also listened to Jude Ogbonna witness and asked him to bring the remaining witness who was there when she stripped him naked.
Deputy Commissioner of Police said the case will be thoroughly investigated because the CP is interested in the matter and he knows Human Rights group are watching. So Jude Ogbonna will be bringing the remaining witness on Friday. She was asked to return on Friday as Jude Ogbonna comes forward with witnesses.
However, information available to us has it that Sergent rose has re-located to Igwuruta in Ikwerre Local Government Area from the town axis where she was formally living to avoid embarrassment from neighbours who knows her and her antecedents,
When contacted the Rivers State Public Relation Officer NNAMDI OMONI Says he is not aware of the petition while interrogation of Sergent rose is ongoing at the state CIID.
The Civil Rights Council has frowned at the use of police to recover debt. The state Chairman of Civil Rights Council Prince Wiro said there is no where in the Nigerian constitution that empowers police to recover debt, he said while Police has the right to investigate any crime, the use of torture to recover debt is not known to the constitution and called on the DCP SCID Handling the case of Jude Ogbona to get to the root cause of the threats from the police officer who was fingered to have tortured late chima aficionado’s manhood to death with efforts to discipline the erring officer.
