Rivers State Task Force On Illegal Motor Park, Street Trading Allegedly Kills 74 Years Old Bureau D Change Operator Following A Scuffle

The Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, South South and South East, Alhaji Musa Saidu the community will take the death of 24 years Hausa man who was killed during a scuffle with Rivers State Task Force on illegal motor park and Street Trading on Tuesday at Aba road as an act of God.

He explained that they are not against efforts of Rivers State Government to keep the city clean but against criminality perpetrated by criminals under the guise of task force.

Alhaji Saidu alleged the Task Force officials wanted to rob the Hausa man which resulted in a scuffle and he was man- handled by a team of boys in the task force team and they end up taking over #120,000 cash with the man and some wads of dollars in his pocket which resulted in his death and they came back to dump him dead.

He said the deceased victim would be buried today after Jumait service at Trailer Park Cemetery. And encouraged his members to be peaceful in their quest for Justice which he acknowledged.

He has also reached out to unit’s executives of the forum in Port Harcourt to tell their members to remain calm.

The Rivers state police command said it restored normalcy around the Aba road presidential axis of Port Harcourt after Hausa community in that area barricaded the road in protest for alleged murder of one of its members

The Public relations officer of the state command DSP Nnamdi Omoni told our correspondent that the men of the GRA police division was deployed to the area to forestall breakdown of law and other.

He said residents should go about their normal business as normalcy has been restored to the busy road.

This is sequel to an earlier Report that says a young Hausa Man believed to be into bureau d change business was said to have been killed by men of the Rivers State Task Force on Illegal Street Trading.

The said claim was made by the Hausa community residing and doing business along the GRA presidential aba road axis who barricaded the roads, destroyed car and were bent on taking their own pound of flesh until police waded in.
