A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has advised the Police, to give the autopsy report of Late Chima Ikwunado to the lawyer of the Ikwunado family for their own good.

Justice J K Omotosho gave the advice when the lawyers to the Ikwunado family, Princess Chinyere Lawrence reported to the court that the police have not given them result or copy of the report days after the pathologists released the report and handed to the police. She said the bereaved family is unable to have closure because neither the corpse of Chima nor the autopsy result have been given to the family to enable them proceed with burial and mourn their son Chima in peace and wondered why police was withholding the information contained in the Autopsy reports.

Justice Omotosho in his submission advised the police to hand over the autopsy result to the family to enable them proceed with litigation. He said that failure to do so will be seen as if they(police) are hiding something.

Police lawyer, Alibi Jonah when the matter came up in court  asked the court to give him time to respond to the application he received from the other lawyers in the matter since he received them wednesday. The Court adjourned to March 10 this year for hearing.

The judge directed that all the processes be served before then.
