Vigilante Chief in diobu yesterday evening escapes death as several bullet shot at him did not penetrate.
Four men suspected to be Assassins/armed robbers at about 6 47pm on Sunday evening after robbing passersby at Elechi street mile 3 diobu had intercepted Rumu-Elechi vigilante members led by RICHMAN GIOGWE from Omoku.
On sighting Richman and other vigilante members, the gunmen in possession of 1 AK47 riffle and 2 locally made 6 round revolver opened fire on Richman second in command of Rumu-Elechi vigilante at Ekwe by Ikwerre road in Mile 3 diobu.
We gathered that the bullet did not penetrate Richman. One of the Suspected assassins/armed robbers was overpowered and arrested with one of the guns after three of his men ran away. The 3 other gunmen escaped with the AK47 riffle and one locally made 6 round revolver while Victor from Imo state in the picture was later overpowered by the vigilante men, arrested and handed over to Eagle Crack Police Unit at Mile 1 diobu.
