The Commissioner of police in Rivers state has advised all the police divisional officers within the command to discharge their duties professionally and avoid any attitude that will tarnish the image of the command. He said ‘’whatever you do good of bad people are watching but you must do the right things. The public appreciate us. So we must do endeavour to do your job professionally’’
The Commissioner of police in Rivers state CP Mustapha Dandaura stated this while honoring the police Traffic warden who was recently gifted with one-million-naira cash from the General overseer of Omega power ministry apostle Chinyere Chibuzor for diligence in controlling traffic along the Rumukwrushi axis of Port Harcourt. It was reported that the police traffic warden anytime she is on duty do not engage in acts of fighting or quarreling with commuters and she ensures free flow of traffic without abusing anybody and also conducts herself diligently
The CP commended the officers and urged DPOs at the event to ensure that actions capable of dragging down the image of the command is abolished especially by men and officers within their command. He said ‘’we are in the era of social media good or bad people are watching you, the command is grappling with ensuring that the IKOKWU saga is well managed and the we would not entertain anything that would further drag down the image of the Rivers State Police command’’
The state commissioner of police Mustapha Dandaura also called on the DPOs within the state command to begin immediate training of officers in their various division with a view to discharge their duties professionally. He said ‘’after this lectures you have received here go back to various divisions and formations and ensure you pass down the message you saw the viral picture where police officers engaged in free for all fights and the once extorting money from the public? This is very shameful and I would not condone such act within this command’’
Our Correspondent also reports that another police officers was also honored for promptly taking a victim to the hospital and paid the bails to enable the hospital begin treatment and continued to check on the old man till he recovered was also honored and received the CP Handshake for a job well done.
