Organized Private Sector Threatens To Embark On Sympathy Strike With Public Sector: Gives Rivers State Government 5 Days To Meet Public Sector Demands

The organized private sector unions in Rivers state says it will embark on a sympathy strike with the public sector union after 5 days if the demands of the public sector unions are not met by the Rivers state government.

A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of organized private sector unions NLC, Temple Morford and its TUC counterpart John Ogaba called on the Rivers state government to avert the impending industrial action by the public sector union by engaging the leadership towards industrial peace and harmony.

The statement also reiterated that if government fails to engage the labor unions within 5 days of this notice the private sector will in solidarity and spirit of the labor movement to enhance the welfare of its worker’s/members demands in public sector embark on sympathy strike to press home their demands
