The 2 Arrested Pilots Did Not Spend A Second In Port Harcourt Correctional Centre: They Are In Delta Hotels Attended To By Medical Team- Attorney General Rivers State

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor have revealed that the two pilots of Carveton helicopters Samuel Buhari and Samuel Urgoji who were arraigned in a chief magistrate court Port Harcourt on Tuesday 7th April, 2020 for allegedly disobeying the Rivers State Government order barring air passengers from entering the state are in Delta Hotels Old GRA, Port Harcourt and not in Correctional centre as insinuated by radio Lawyers and Civil societies organisations.

The Attorney General and commissioner for Justice in a press statement he personally signed and released to journalist on Thursday April 9,2020, explained that He applied to the court and got a variation on the remand order of the court that the accused be remanded in any of Rivers State Government facility including Delta Hotels.

Prof Adango said the accused persons are being remanded in Delta Hotel based on the variation order He obtained, and they are receiving proper medical attention from the Covid-19 medical team.

He noted that the state Government is concerned about the health of all individuals including that of prison inmates.

Prof Adango added that the accused persons did not spend a second in Port Harcourt correctional centre.
