Another Task force On Illegal Street Trading In Rivers State Attacked By Hausa Traders At Nkpolu, Two Days After Late Promise Eligbu Was Stabbed To Death At Slaughter In Trans Amadi


On Thursday the 9th day of April 2020 a Member of rivers state taskforce on illegal Motor parks, Street Trading Headed by Bright Amaehule’s was allegedly stabbed to death by an unidentified Hausa man after the taskforce men engaged in a free for all fight with Hausa traders around the Trans Amadi Slaughter area.
At the end of the fight, a Task Force driver was stabbed to death by an ‘Aboki’
The late man identified as Promise Eligbu Ordu aka Orija, was a member of Rivers State Taskforce on Illegal Street Trading, Markets, Motor Parks and Mechanics was carrying on an official duty when the incident occurred.
We gathered that late Promise Eligbu was allegedly attacked and killed by truck drivers(Hausa) at Trans-Amadi after a fracas broke out over certain permits and payments.
Promise Eligbu is in his late forties or early Fifties from Amaewhule’s community, Rumuomoi, Psychiatric road, Rumuigbo, in port Harcourt.PIX. Late Promise Eligbu.
Efforts to get the taskforce chairman speak on the development proved abortive as he would not respond to inquiries.
Meanwhile on Saturday the 11th of April 2020 yet another task force official was stabbed again but this time around he lived to tell his story.
We gathered the incident took place at the Nkpolu area of East west road where the yet to be named task force went in a commando style to seize goods and wares belonging to the Hausa community in that area trading on food stuffs. The aftermath of the confrontation left two of the Taskforce member narrowly escaping death and was rushed to a nearby hospital around the Rumuokoro area.
