The Rivers state police command says it has finished orderly room trials of the police Sergeant who shot to death a female police officer on active duty at Eneka round about by a trigger happy policeman attached to the taskforce.
The Commissioner of police in Rivers state CP Joseph Mukan stated this shortly after a condolences visit to the families of the late police Sergeant, Lovender Elekwachi at her family house in ISU Ozuzu Etche LGA Rivers state
This is coming four days after a Police Officer, Sergeant Bitrus Osaiah killed a fellow Police officer, Sergeant Lovender Elekwachi in the Eneka area of Port Harcourt on April 23 enforcing market closure directive on COVID-19 orders by the Government.
He said the police officer who pulled the trigger have been dismissed and handed to court for prosecution, he said we cannot hand him over to court if we have not dismissed him, I can categorically tell you that he would be in court on Tuesday
The lawyer to the victim family said the family is in dare need of justice as this is the only thing that can calm the nerves of family members who are seeking for justice to done in the matter. the family is also insisting on the prosecution of the head of the task force operations in Rivers state bright Amehule alongside the officers who shot to death late Sergeant Lovender and compensation from the rivers state government
