The Civil Rights council says it has secured the release of 15-year-old apprentice, Emmanuel Chioma after it got a call from One Mr. Appolos Maculey that he has being in detention at Estate Police Station, Woji, Obi/Akpor LGA since Tuesday afternoon till Wednesday afternoon.

According to Mercy John ‘’the 15-year-old boy was arrested because his uncle gave him phone to take to a phone repairer. On getting there somebody saw the phone and called the Police that the phone is a stolen phone. Despite the fact that the 15-year-old boy took them to his house where his Uncle was arrested, the Police still arrested the boy and detained him.’’ She said After I heard from Mr Appolos whom the Police asked to bring 20,000 naira to bail the 15-year-old boy,

I put a call across to our Chairman, Prince Wiro who asked me to forward Mr. Appolos Phone Number to him which I did. Mr Wiro interfaced with Mr. Appolos on phone after which he told Appolos to go back to the station. The 15-year-old boy was released free of charge. The Uncle of the boy has also led the Police to arrest the person who gave him the phone. The person who gave him the phone said somebody used it to borrow 5,000 naira from him. The Uncle can sort himself out. our Joy is that the 15-year-old boy was released free of charge. under the constitution the 15 Years old boy is still a Minor and should be spending time in Police cell locked up with other criminals
