Drivers Welfare Club Declares War On Extortion’s, Police Brutality: Launches Database Scheme To Check Crime, Eliminate Thuggery

Taxi drivers in Rivers state have declared war on all forms of Extortion by security agents and touts operating in the state with the lunch of  a database schemes to protect drivers and bring sanity on the road.

The National president of of Drivers welfare associations Monday Elimigbe at the unveiling of database schemes for the private and commercial drivers in public and private sectors in River state said drivers constitute Over 25%of working population in Nigeria and have been operating without a functional or befitting ultra modern motor parks and Terminals which makes the profession unprofitable and stressful.
MONDAY Elimigbe explained that database registration will eradicate unethical behavior of drivers in Rivers state especially curbing of illegal activities of criminal elements engaged in one chance operation.

The state Chairman of the drivers welfare club Chukwuemeka Ogu said the database will also help government for easy identification and ensure unified tax payments system
