The Nigeria Union of Journalists Rivers state council is calling on traditional institutions in the state to support government to instill, Moral, values and discipline to curb crimes and criminality in their domains.The state Chairman of NUJ, Stanley Job said this when the executives of the union paid a courtesy visit to the Amayanbo of Kala-Ogoloma kingdom l, King Goddy Idaminabo-Oluwa at his palace.
Stanley Job said if Government at all levels recognizes traditional rulers as an important institution then there will be less reported crimes in the state.He said the traditional institutions has all what it takes to fight crimes and criminality as they are closet to the people.
In his response the Amayanbo of Kala-Ogoloma kingdom king Goddy Idaminabo -Olunwa blamed greed, laziness and idleness amongst the youth as responsible for youth restiveness.
He said his palace is working with the security agencies and the DPOs of phalga to achieve water tight security.
The king also called on the Rivers state government to assist NUJ in fixing her leaking roofs
The king also called on the youths of Ogbunabali and Amadi Ama to come together and work for the growth of their respective domains, he said the youths are the main pillars in building any sane society and as such can not be neglected in the process of nation building and urged the youths to shun cultism and loafing around but engage in something meaningful to earn a legitimate income.
The Amayanbo of Kala-Ogoloma kingdom king Goddy Idaminabo -Olunwa Also promised to engage the security operatives in his domain to curb Youth Restiveness. Nothing that the persistent cult clashes in Amadi-Ama has been tackled and urged the DPOs within the area to do more to nib crime in the bud as the palace is doing and supporting the security agents in that regards
