To stay informed and keep abreast of happenings around their environment, so as to educate others,the police public Relations Officer in the state has donated a 43inchs Television set to the state executive chairman of Nigeria union of Journalist.
Describing the visual set donated to the branch as a means of information gathering and dissemination to the public but most importantly to enable journalist in the state unwind after a hard days job
The Rivers Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Stanley Job Stanley said the visual set will aid journalists in the state to monitor things around them and the country in general.
He expressed joy at the gifting by the Police Authority, noting that this gift is first of its Kind coming from the police in the history of the union and thanked the commissioner of police, CP Joseph Mukan For his collaboration with the union in achieving mutual working relationship and that the teevee will be put to good use.
Presenting the 43 inch colored television set to the NUJ, the police public relations officer SP Nnamdi Omoni urged journalists to use the teevee set to market the state and keep information dissemination flowing.
He said the police do not only receive but are also giving out, he said he was moved by the fact that when the NUJ Hosted him Two weeks ago to celebrate his promotion, he noticed that the bush bar which serves as a mess for the union does not have a television set and promised to donate one to the union.
SP Nnamdi Omoni also called for more harmoniums working relationship with union in ensuring accurate and prompt information regarding security.
