Anger And Shame Led Me To Sell My Grandchild- Confession Of A Woman Who Sold Her Grandson For 1.4 Million Naira: Baby Recovered By Police

CP Mukan said the baby has been handed over to the mother while efforts are on to arrest fleeing members of the gang .
The buyer of the baby Juliet Obianwa disclosed that she was told that the baby is from Orphanage home and she was asked to pay 1 million naira to regularize her adoption processes.
Mrs Obianwa said she was looking for a baby boy to adopt that was what led her to the incident

The grand mother of the baby  Anthonia Amos said she was angry that the father of the baby did not pay any bride price on her head before putting her daughter in a family way. even when the girl was in labour, I told him to bring money for maternity, he only brought one thousand naira, she said she was only trying to hide the news of the pregnancy from the family and  father of the girl who would have blamed her for not bringing up their daughter properly that pushed her into selling the baby to any one who would have loved the baby and cared for him

The commissioner of police CP JOSEPH MUKAN while also briefing journalist said the command also Arrested the CHILD TRAFFICKERS.
he said Detectives of the Trans-Amadi Police Station while investigating a case of Child Trafficking, reported on 25/09/2020 by one Christian Duru ‘m’, the father of the baby whose wife, Anthonia Joseph gave birth to but with the connivance of his mother-in-law, one Anthonia Amos ‘f’ sold the two weeks old baby at the cost of one million, three hundred thousand naira (N 1.3M).
In the course of investigation, the mother-in-law was arrested and on interrogation, led the Detectives to Ukanafun LGA in Akwa-Ibom State where one Pauline Umoh ‘f’ was arrested. She later led the Police to Mgbidi in Imo State where the buyer, Juliana Obianwa ‘f’ was arrested and the baby recovered. The Baby boy has been released to the mother while the suspects are in our custody helping in the investigation and efforts intensified to arrest the remnants of the syndicate.
