Fake news making rounds have it that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala have been appointed as the new DG of WTO.
~Firstly – the post is not appointed rather elected
~Secondly -the consultation for the final selection will commence on the 19th of Oct.
~Thirdly- the final election will take place on the 6th of Nov.
Finally , She just scaled through to the final stage with a woman from south Korea in the person of Yhoo-Myung Hee, both of them will contest it at the final stage.
Let us not use fake news and story to discredit her. She stand a better chance to win….

Two female candidates, South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee and Nigeria’s own Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, have made itbto the final round of race.

Peter Obi, a former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Vice Presidential candidate has reacted to the selection of Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as two final candidates in the race to lead the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Daily post had reported that WTO members on Wednesday selected two final candidates for the final round.
They are: Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and South Korea’s Yoo Myung-hee.
With the two women advancing to the final round of the selection process, the WTO will likely have the first female director-general in its 25-year history.
Reacting, Peter Obi congratulated Okonjo-Iweala who served as Nigeria’s Finance Minister for making it into the finals.
Peter Obi tweeted, “Dearest Sister @NOIweala, My sincere congratulations on your selection as one of the final two.
