The National union of petroleum and natural gas workers says it will not join the strike action embarked by PENGASSAN over IPPIS hoping that issue raised in the memo will be addressed by the FG.
The National treasurer of Nupeng and the Rivers state vice Chairman of NLC Alex Agwunwo told correspondent Anita Ogona that the Union has made adequate import and storage of petroleum products to ensure that there would be scarcity of PMS in Port Harcourt and its environs.
He called federal government to urgently address the issue raised by PENGASSAN to avoid other union joining the strike on sympathy.
“We are still consulting at the national level to see the next step to take as regards the ongoing strike by our sister union.
The national treasurer of Nupeng Alex Agwunwo also appealed to residents of Port Harcourt not to embark on panic buying of petrol’s as tanker drivers have been instructed to double their distribution channels
