One Mr Godsple Gbaraka from Gwara Community in Khana LGA, that works with Prodentia guide limited as a security posted to Bulk Strategic Reserve Limited located at Abonema wolf in Port Harcourt was shot dead by one inspector James of marine police attached to the company.
Father Of Security Guard Killed By Police Officer In Rivers State Threatens Suicide If Justice Is Not Done
Mr Innocent Gbaraka father to Mr Gospel Gbaraka a security guard with prodentia Guides who was allegedly shot dead by a Marine Police officer simply identified as Inspector James on Sunday Morning November 22,2020 has threatened to commit suicide if the killer of his son is not brought to book.
Mr Innocent Gbaraka said his son who was shot dead is his only hope. Mr Gbaraka recounted how he managed in training his son in Polytechnics only for the life of his son to be cut short.
He called on the Police Authority to ensure justice on the matter.
The Elder brother to the deceased Mr Emmanuel Gbaraka in his response called on the Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police and well meaning Nigerians to ensure justice is served in the matter.
Meanwhile a right advocacy group Centre For Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign has called for an immediate and unbiased investigation into the incident to unravel the circumstance that led to the shooting to death of the deceased.
Secretary Board of Trustee Centre For Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign Prince Wiro called on the Police Authority to ensure the investigation is concluded in record time and anybody found culpable made to face the law.
Our correspondent gathered that the deceased works with Prodentia Guides limited and was posted to Bulk strategic Reserve limited at Abonnema Wharf, Port Harcourt where the said Inspector James is also attached.
The reason for the alleged shooting of the deceased by the Police officer is yet to be ascertained.
Our correspondent also gathered that the Police officer alleged to be responsible for the killing has been detained at the Divisional Police headquarters in Mile I diobu.
