The People of Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State appears not to be relenting on the quest in drawing the attention of government at all levels and their agencies on the deplorable state of their major roads which is linking Port Harcourt and neighboring States.
This time a group of Concern Youths of Etche as part of their Strategies staged a peaceful protest in major and streets of the area with fourteen days ultimatum issued to the government to come construct the road.
The Protesters who were led by FORUM FRED complained that hoodlums now take advantage of the bad state of the road to carry out their activities which he said was dangerous for the road users.
FRED threatened that after fourteen days ultimatum, they will be left with no other option than to take to the street since it appears that such is the only language that the government understands.
Some other youths NICHOLAS IWUJI and SOLOMON OSINANWATA-NWEKE who also spoke to newsmen criticized some individuals led by some politicians for attempting to disrupt the protest said Etche People can not longer access Port Harcourt because of the state of the road and called for an urgent Intervention by the government.
