A socio cultural groups, the Niger delta Dialogue Advocacy for Policy And Peace, has called on the commissioner of police In Rivers state to withdraw police security attachments from traditional Rulers whom have abandoned their domains but visit their community with police escorts
The Chairman of the Niger Delta Dialogue Rear admiral Nicholas Bakpo at a courtesy visit to the commissioner of police In Rivers state said 80 percent of local government Chairman in Rivers operate from the state capital instead of the LGAs and same thing with Traditional Rulers.
He said withdrawing the security details from these traditional Rulers who stays in town will tackle some of the security Breaches happening in most communities.
In his response the commissioner of police In Rivers state Joseph Mukan said all hands must be on deck to achieve water tight security in the state.
He said the command is tackling security issues by partnering with local vigilante groups trained by the police for effective community policing.
