A group of ex- agitators from the 9 oil producing state is asking the new sole administrator of NDDC to use his short term in office to Focus on completing the Eastwest road due to huge economic importance the road plays in the entire Niger Delta region.
The secretary of the first phase ex agitators under the umbrella of leadership, peace and cultural Development Initiative, Nature Dumalekieghe at press briefing in Port Harcourt said there is need for all stakeholders in the Niger delta region to call on the National assembly to urgently pass the NDDC budget to enable the sole administrator to Carry on with completing the Eastwest road which is included in the budget.
The group also call on president Mohammed Buhari to prevail on the relevant body to pay the over 1 trillion Naira owed NDDC to aid the transformation of the Region and change the entire Niger Delta to the Dubai of Nigeria If the amount is released.
The secretary of the group Nature Dumalekieghe also appeal to the sole administrator to also look into issues affecting students under the scholarship program of the Board studying in various universities abroad to put to an end to situations where the students are stranded abroad.
The group also called on Ex-agitators , civil society organization n and members of IJAW Youth council IYC to support the sole administrations of NDDC Barr EFFIONG OKON AKWA as Appointed by president Mohammed Buhari to bring his wealth of experience to bear in taking the NDDC to greater heightsCorrespondent Anita Ogona reports that the spokesman for the group OPIA JOSHUA also urge the youth in the region to que into the federal government modular Refinery already going on in Edo, Imo, delta states and Akwaibom
