They are the third largest group of people in Equitorial Guinea after Fang and Bubi tribes, occupying a small area in Bioko. Majority of them migrated to Bioko from Arochukwu, Abia State of Nigeria. Their primary language is Igbo language, which is spoken in Southeastern Nigeria, Equitorial Guinea, Cameroon, Haiti, Barbados, Belize. They have a population of about 33,500.
