IGP Mohammed Adamu Vision Of Community Policing Becomes Reality As Rivers State Police Command Recruits 366 Special Constabulary Sent To Their Various LGA’s

As part of efforts to tackle crimes in rural areas in line with the IGP Mohammed Adamu community policing, the Rivers state police command has recruited 360 special Constabulary into the police force drawn from the 23 local government areas in rivers state.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State Joseph Mukan at the passing out parade of the newly recruited special constabulary revealed that the command will not tolerate any Form of corruption under his watch.

He urged the three hundred and sixty six newly recruited Special Constabulary not to have mindset of making money through corruption in the course of their duty.
He said they will be posted to their various Local Government, to ensure they fight crime in their locality and protect lives and property.

The Commissioner of Police in Rivers State ,CP Joseph Mukan also revealed that corruption amongst the newly recruited special constabulary will not be tolerated by the command under his watch.
CP Mukan made the assertion while briefing three hundred and sixty six Special Constabulary who were newly recruited by the Nigerian Police.
CP Mukan told the Special Constabulary not to have mindset of making money through corruption in the course of their duty.
CP Mukan urged the recruits who were posted to their various Local Government, to ensure they fight crime in their locality and protect lives and property.
The Rivers Police Boss admonished the recruits to be polite to members of the public and avoid acts that will amount to Human Rights abuses.
CP Mukan urged the recruits to cooperate with the Divisional Police Officer(DPO) of the Divisions in LGAs they are deployed while maintaining that the recruits will not regret joining the Police officer.
CP Mukan urged the recruits to always ask questions if they are in doubt of any situation.
The Commissioner of Police told the recruits that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu expects them to be good ambassadors of Nigerian Police force.
